This sale is for a new vintage Rosenthal Studio-Line 5-piece Coffee Service of Rosenthal Continental Duo Studio Linie Signa II. (Signa 2) The Rosenthal Duo pattern was designed by the Italian designer Ambrogio Pozzi. These items were purchased by the original owner in the very early 1980s from a Rosenthal Studio-Linie store in Munich, Germany, on the Leopoldstraße. While the Rosenthal Duo line was created by Ambrozio Pozzi, the Signa sublineage and the Signa 2 design in particular were decorated by the designer Otto Herbert Hajek. The most important feature of Hajek's art is the offer of communication, Rosenthal wrote in its brochure in the 1970s, a living dialog betwen artist and the viewer of the art. He does this with concepts that characterize his work such as »Signs«, »Paint«, and »Color Path«. With Signa I and II. he interprets these concepts in the Form »Duo« so they integrate into the everyday world. He literally envelopes them into a cool, intellectual mold, Rosenthal continues in the brochure.
