Vintage Otagiri Oval Ceramic Trinket Box Serenade Pattern. This is a lovely trinket box made by Otagiri in the Serenade pattern. It measures approx. 4” long x 3” wide by 1 ½” high. It is in great condition with no chips or cracks If you are a collector you will know that Otagiri stoneware was produced and painted by hand by a group of artists hired to design and create pieces in the 1950’s. The Otagiri trademark was not registered until 1980. “Although the company manufactured and stamped its pieces as made in Japan, the Otagiri trademark was registered in the United States.” https://www.reference.com/world-view/otagiri-d8c3aa75bb105025 In 1994 the company was sold to Enesco. Authentic Otagiri can be identified by a gold and yellow sticker and if the sticker has been removed or washed off it can still be identified by the “Otagiri Japan.” M y store items are from auctions, garage sales and/or estate sales, generally pre-owned and sold as is.
